During a Google IO presentation, it seems one of the slides leaked information about an upcoming redesigned GMail client for android. The new version is cleaner and much more streamlined.
A new drawer design provides easier access to key features. It seems this was shown without much constraint and the presenters email address was even left in.

A cleaner, faster and more personalized Google Maps is coming

Although Google has kept most of its secrets close to the chest, it seems an updated Google Maps may be announced today at Google IO 2013 based on a discovery by DroidLife. They discovered a special landing page that says
"tailored map for every search"
Based on the screenshots they provided, it looks much more like a mobile influenced design with WebGL overviews (taken from Google Earth), built in Flight Search and a feature to compare multiple modes of transportation on the same map.
We also see hints of Google Now style proactive recommendations at your destination (like restaurants). The site is no longer online but head over to Droid Life to see more screenshots.

Rumors about the Google Nexus 5

With all the new shiny gadgets we have seen in the last month, the Nexus 4 seems less and less interesting. A user on a Korean website, who claims to be in the know, now says LG and Google are working together on the Nexus 5.

He claims it will have a 5 inch full HD screen, a quad-core tegra 4 processor, 8/16GB storage, 2GM of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera and the next version of Android (Key Lime Pie).

The use claims the Nexus 5 will be announced at Google I/O in May and launch shortly after for $299.
